M7.4 Environmental Services

San Diego County has a Department of Environmental Health (DEH). The department performs a myriad of roles, including public education, implementation and regulation of environmental laws and services as the Solid Waste Local Environment Agency. Regulation includes "retail food safety, public housing, public swimming pools, small drinking water systems, mobile-home pars, onsite water systems" among many others. Some of the information it provides on its website includes Hepatitis B alerts and education, a disease which is very common in San Diego county. The DEH provides information on what the disease is, how it is spread, how to prevent it, and even statistics for the county. Other information it contains includes videos on how the department regulates the local food industry.
